Course overview
Art, Craft and Design is a broad and flexible course which offers an in-depth introduction to the visual arts. The course is ideal for pupils who are interested in exploring a wide range of artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, animation and digital design. The course provides the foundational skills necessary to explore and combine pathways in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Textiles, Photography, and 3D Design. You will explore critically how artists, craftspeople and designers from diverse cultures, times and societies have arrived at solutions and communicated meaning using the formal elements.
Course content
Art, Craft and Design has immense value as a GCSE subject. The course will equip you with the skills to engage with the visual arts throughout your life. GCSE art provides you with the opportunity to:
